Thank you for stopping by!
I’m Michael. I’m a husband, father, and grandfather living in Oklahoma. Recently, I retired after working for several decades with adults who had a wide spectrum of intellectual and physical challenges.
On this website, I feature short fiction about subjects that don’t usually receive the attention they deserve. The stories focus on characters with disabilities, as well as those who are vulnerable and at risk for other reasons.
The topics include developmental disabilities, Down syndrome, intellectual challenges, physical challenges, traumatic brain injuries, seizures, autism, serious illness, mental health issues, dementia, old age, and more.
The men, women, and children in each story are portrayed realistically. They are not meant to be “inspirational” nor are they demeaning caricatures. They are just people with the same hopes and fears, as well as successes and failures that all of humanity shares.
If you find these stories worthwhile please hit the “like” button and feel free to share them on Twitter and Facebook. I also invite you to follow so that you can be notified when stories are added.
Thank you for taking the time to read what are, hopefully, thoughtful short stories that reflect the basic decency and compassion we are all capable of.
I hope you find value in the time you spend here!
